Note: This is merely a saved copy of my old Facebook profile from my former account there. In it I am very blunt, no nonsense, and open. That's just how I am. I am a logic, commonsense, fact based individual. I don't base observations on emotional high-strungedness. Apparently some people took offense to this fact. My position was still simply "Too bad". However, I just let you know in advance as a courtesy. Not that there is anything offensive in it, as far as I am concerned. But some people just can't handle the truth. In the words of Harry Truman, "I don't give people hell. I give them the truth and they think it's hell".
First thing; this is NOT a Professional Career Profile, Cover Letter or Resume. I am interested in working with professional companies and professional employers with a professional mindset ONLY. Please be professional and refrain from the use of online social media website personal profiles as a means by which to ascertain the aspects of a person’s professional career and life.
For a career profile, follow this link: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/kalon-reeves/30/9a0/b88
Are there no longer any REAL professionals out there who select candidates for employment based on face to face interviews anymore as apposed to the amateurish method of trolling online social media personal profiles?!
That hypothetical question having been posed, I formally firmly, proudly, and unashamedly stand by the content of my profile. If you do not like that which you find within my profile, remember that this is America and as much as I am free to post the content likewise you are free to ignore it and not revisit my profile.
As far as about me:
I strongly stand for right over wrong. I firmly stand for good over evil. I respect that which is truly ethical over that which is unethical. Likewise I recognize that which is truly ethical as apposed to the propagandized superficially or politically correct ideal of what it means to be ethical.
My word is my bond. Keeping my word is more important to me than any convenience of self.
I am predominantly anti-social as opposed to being a “social butterfly”. I openly and confidently state this fact in defense of being so and in refute of those who assert that, for some reason, it is a negative attribute. I do not consider being anti-social to be a bad thing, although pro-social people, for the most part, seem predisposed to propagate such sentiment. How often after declining an invitation to some party, gathering or company picnic has it been followed by the exclamation, "Aw, come on, don't be anti-social" or "What, are you anti-social?" I personally find the typical stigma against those who happen to be anti-social to be offensive and brought about by a level of arrogance. Experiences with others throughout the course of my life have only helped to reinforce this aspect of my personality. My experience with people over time has caused me to form a dislike for some, but not all, people and a preference to refrain from wasting my time with some of these people. Most people today, in my opinion, tend to be self-centered, inconsiderate, rude, crude, and boorish in general. Many behave as mental and emotional infants. I thereby shun socializing with others, in general, except in a professional capacity.
This is NOT an issue. This is NOT a "disorder". This is NOT a problem that needs to be fixed. This does NOT mean that any person who tends toward being anti-social needs your help and being anti-social IS NOT A CRIME!!!! It, for the most part, means that if given the opportunity to participate in social or group functions I am likely to be more comfortable opting to decline the opportunity in favor of spending my time in another activity in which I have more of an interest. It is just a trait or characteristic of one’s personality. Some people are morning people, some people are nighttime people. Some people have blue eyes, and some people have brown eyes. It does NOT mean there is a problem with someone because they are different. Nor does it mean that if someone is anti-social they are “stuck up” or conceded just because they do not socialize. It is perplexing to hear such assessments from others and I find it to be baseless and assuming. I see no logical basis for developing such a perception. As far as I am concerned, it is just a common delusion conjured up by people that are so insecure in their own pro-social personality that they invent such a notion in order to explain why someone in particular chooses not to socialize with them. I personally find it pathetically needy and another reason to not want to socialize with others.
I am oriented towards logic over emotionalism. Not to be misconstrued to mean that I have a lack of appreciation for art.
To steal the structure of a quote from Albert Einstein in order to state a quote of my own words; "Logic without emotion is lame, emotion without logic is blind".
I detest having to associate with emotionally high-strung people.
I detest people who presume to make everyone else's business around them their own business, especially when it is done with the arrogance of assumption that it is their right to do so.
If you are going to expect people to show you respect, at least respect yourself and others around you enough to shower or bath.
I believe in punctuality and I make a point of keeping punctual. I consider it a matter of common courtesy and an aspect of consideration of others before one's self. I consider a lack of punctuality, wherein which it inconveniences others, to be rude and a matter of demonstrating selfishness, a lack of respect and a lack of consideration for others. I see that the pseudo dictionary "Wikipedia" makes an assertion that in western cultures there is an implied grace period of 10~15 minutes to be considered punctual. I do not know where they come to this nonsensical conclusion, but that's about what you can come to expect from the likes of "Wikipedia". It also speaks volumes to the etiquette and manners of the contributors. You are either punctual or you are not. There is no such thing as a grace period in regard to the term. To imply such defeats the very meaning of the word, "Punctual".
I'm not a fan of the mindlessly constant use of foul language. I tend to have lowered respect for those who make it a standard part of their vocabulary.
Trite platitudes make me want to gag.
I don't do chain letters, chain emails, or chain posts for any reasons.
No metal utensils on the T-FAL!!!
Barbecue is not "Fall off the bone tender" unless it will actually, literally fall off the bone!! Don't call it "fall off the bone tender" unless it is! - Pet Peeve category
Just because oil is needed in the preparation of some foods, it does not mean you must smother that food in oil. It is perfectly OK to use the minimum amount necessary
If you are cooking for more than just yourself, it would be considerate not to add salt, butter, bacon grease, etc. to some items where it is not necessarily necessary, such as with vegetables, and allow people to add them to their food at their own discretion. Not everyone wants their food salty or swimming in grease, especially when it comes to vegetables. After all they are often one of the few truly healthy items included in the meal.
I believe in washing ones hands before and after handling food.
Prep food, especially raw meats, on a prep or cutting board, not directly on the counter top. Gross!
If you are going to cook prepackaged food, for God's sake, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE PACKAGE!!!! If you aren't going to do it right, don't do it at all. It doesn't make you some kind of rebel to just proudly improvise your own personal way through the process and you have no right to complain when it doesn't come out right.
When done using a dish sponge, squeeze the excess liquid out and don't leave it in the sink for crying out loud!
Trash belongs in the waste basket, not in the sink.
In general, I find vegetarians to be rather annoying people.
To me, eating is for the sake of replenishing the nutrients expended from the body over time. Hunger is the means by which our bodies alert us to the need to eat. I do not consider it to be a social event. I do not require someone to be next to me in order to accomplish the natural biological function that is 'eating'.
If you cook food, you are responsible for eating that food YOURSELF. DO NOT cook food, then leave it sitting in the refrigerator or otherwise until it begins to go bad and then complain that others in the household are not eating the food that YOU made. It is a waste of food and others are not responsible for eating concoctions that you suddenly felt inspired to make. It is the same as making a mess and expecting other's to clean up your mess afterwards, only in this instance you can be adversely affecting other's attempts to maintain their food intake.
I do not believe in "Early Termination Fees" and do not enter into contracts that contain them.
On the concept of jewelry - Buying shiny bits of metal and rocks at insanely expensive prices just so that they can be worn around your body has got to be one of the most ridiculous behaviors of the human species. You would think that people's fascination with shiny objects would be outgrown by the time one has outgrown their crib and spinning mobile.
I believe firmly in respecting the Constitution.
Interests: Moving on, PRIVACY and the right thereof, Independence, Self-determination, Free will, Selflessness in the form of consideration of those around you, Consideration for others personal space, Self-awareness, Humility, Logic, Common sense, Intelligence, Tranquility, Showers.
Current Goals: Clear out the immediate debt remaining on my credit.
Eventual Goals: To end up in the Atlanta, GA/North Georgia area. Eventually acquire property and at least a modest place to live on that property. To have as much privacy, quiet, peace and tranquility from the typical hassles from everyday life and intrusions as is possible. Perhaps learn carpentry (more of the furniture and accessory building variety) as a hobby. And remain out of debt as much as possible.
Yes, I am single and I intend to remain as such.
